The Mystery Box

What is an observation?
What is an inference?
How did you identify the items in the mystery boxes?

  1. An observation is the process of obtaining information by using the 5 senses in any possible. An inference is an educated guess. My group identified the items in the mystery box by making observations.

  2. An observation is when you use your five senses to study the world around you. An inference is an educated guess made by observations. My group identified the items in the mystery box by using our four senses(sight, touch, hearing, smell).

  3. An observation is when you use your five senses to study the world around you. An inference is an educated guess made by your research. our group identified the items in the mystery box by using our four senses.and then discussed among ourselves what it might be.then we take the resonable one and put it in the table.

  4. An observation is when you take note of something using your five senses. An inference is when you hypothesize or make an educated guess from prior knowledge, research, and experiments. My group identified the items in the mystery box my using four of our five senses. We used the senses of hearing and feeling mostly. Smelling and looking was also a choice to use but they didn't really help in the given situation. Tasting was not allowed.

  6. an OBSERVATION IS WHEN YOU USE THE FIVE SENSES TO STUDY THE WORLD AROUND YOU. iT IS USED TO FORM AN HYPOTHESIS. AN INFERENCE IS WHEN YOU USE FACT OR OPINION TO GUESS OR HYPOTHESIZE AND EDUCATED GUESS.
i WASN'T HERE FOR THE LAB SO I DON'T KNOW HOW TO IDENTIFY WHATS IN THE BOX.

    any FEEDBACK? ANYONE?

  7. An observation is when you use your five senses to study the world around you. An inference is an educated guess, based on your prior knowledge and what you have read. My group and I identified what was in the mystery boxes by using four of our five senses(sight, touch, smell and hearing) We were not allowed to use "taste" because we would not want people licking the boxes trying to figure out what was inside of it. That would be weird and also because we did not know if it was safe for us to taste, but I don't think Ms. Lindsay would do something like that.

  8. An observation is when you study the world around you using your five senses. an inference is to make a conclusion based on the researches you make. the way my group determined what was inside of all the boxes was that we used our four senses because we werent able to taste, to guess what was in the boxes

  9. An observation is when you use your five senses to study the world around you. An inference is an educated guess. To identify the items my group used only 4 senses. Tasting was not allowed. I did not use sight that much, but I did feel, listen, and even smelled. Some were easy to identify using the senses, but some had to use a lot of touching and feeling, trying to find the shape by making it roll.
